I’ve had quite a weird gender journey throughout my life so far. I won’t go into the details but I’ve socially transitioned at a point, been pressured by family to detransition, detransitioned. Have felt at points comfortable with femininity or being a girl and at points have very strongly felt uncomfortable with those things. It has been wild. Anywho in my head I’ve identified as nonbinary for over two years now. Feel very euphoric being perceived/looking andro and masc, and have some dysphoria but not much/debilitating (can be very uncomfortable with my chest in public but can look in the mirror in private and feel neutral for example)
anywho, I started coming out to close friends and my gf over the past month but holllly shit. I think coming out opened a Pandora’s box of stuff, and I feel much more dysphoric. I also yearn so so much more to look masculine. Like I know I want top surgery and have for a while but now I have a strange want to maybe go on T. This is rlly scary for me, my girlfriend is a lesbian and we’ve been together very happily for two years now. She accepts me as nonbinary but what if my transition ‘wants’ go too far?? What if this is a phase? I simultaneously hope it is and isn’t. I hope it is so I don’t have to potentially lose a relationship and deal with possible social rejection for very publically transitioning. On the other hand I hope it isn’t because it’s scary to think that a feeling so strong could just go away. Like if it could just go away could it just come back again?? What if it came back much later in life where I’m more settled and it would be more of a pain in the ass to transition? I feel kinda scared. I want to look like a man so badly these days.
has anyone else’s experienced this pandora box phenomenon? Does anyone else feel anxious about how being trans might impact a long term relationship?? I guess I’m just looking for comfort in other peoples shared experiences. Thanks for reading my anon
being trans can definitely impact relationships, especially romantic ones. that’s something i struggled to accept when i first came to terms with it.
i hope that this doesn’t cause many problems for you, however, and hope your girlfriend is able to support you.
best of luck!

Things I noticed-
Here’s a collection of little things I’ve noticed that I can’t make into a detailed meta post like my other stuff (still recommend you check them out).
In way down Hadestown they’re on the stage for the full time, largely laying and watching until they have to move out of the way. Though my favorite little thing is that Eurydice leads Orpheus in a little dance and she spins him.
Also noticeably whenever Eurydice even starts to have a good time the fates come in and start to chase her.
Literally any time Orpheus leaps out in front of her. He’s trying.
Not in show but when the wall broke and came in someone in the audience went “holllly shit!” Which, if you ever seen any iteration live- holy shit is right.
Orpheus shakes. A lot actually. “The man who’s gonna marry you” his voice trembles. It’s more noticeable in act two, he’s beaten, terrified and worried it makes sense. In the middle of epic III he’s trembling like a flower - there’s tears on his face but he keeps going.
The beloved ‘Bended knee’ motif, when he first meets her he’s bent fixing the mic. Love the blocking
Added to this when Eurydice first comes in and he’s like 🧍‍♂️ then runs off. Alternatively when this happens in road to hell reprise and he has even more reason to stand there mystified.
Every time the fates blow out her candle, she’s about five seconds from hitting one of them
When Hermes says dead (what she was instead was dead) Eurydice looks dead (sorry) at him. Again the shock she has gets me every time
I DID/I DO - AHHHHHHHHHHHHGHHHH
Orpheus has a slight limp after papers, it varies based on the actions he needs to do in a scene but it’s noticeable
Also he does fight back but it’s like 6/1 and he’s a poet shaped like a twig do the math.
I’m embrassed it took me this long but in chant II Orpheus is de programming the workers/starting a revolt. Though his voice he can get them to do stuff, thus snapping them out of it.
THE ABSOLUTE SHOCK ORPHEUS HAS AFTER EPIC III WORKS, HES SHAKING AGAIN AND ON THE VERGE OF TEARS LIKE HE NEVER THOUGHT HE COULD DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE AND I 😭
Anyways, the way Eurydice is comforted by the song (can you feel it/can you hear it) she looks like she’s melting in someone’s arms though she is all alone. Just for a moment.

Atlas i just watched the season 2 finale of House and it’s making me go insane i literally kept stopping and whispering “holy shit” idek what to say but like first of all the fact that there’s a whole entire Point, like a Thesis, about trust… like trust in both directions between House and the team (and Cuddy and Wilson although the point there was more LACK of trust) also i looooove that even though the whole thing was. apparently. a hallucination it gave me the chance to giggle and kick my feet bc holllly crap i love seeing Cameron get Worse. like she mellowed out a bit in season 2 but DID SHE REALLY No she is still Bonkers. everyone here is bonkers. no punches pulled. i’m feeling crazy rn about this skskjghsk
SOOO sorry it took me a bit to answer this but oughh my god yeah, one thing you’re gonna find w house season finales is that they’re all just absolutely insane. like. i always forget Just how insane season 2’s is bc the rest just. ramp up exponentially. i have so many thoughts on this i could ramble abt it forever but YEAH honestly the fact it was All a hallucination made up by house’s made makes me even crazier about the themes of trust of both others and yourself and seeing how each person is characterized like. that is literally how house’s mind sees everything in increasing stages of desperate insanity as he’s like. going into critical condition after being shot???? and ig in his mind cameron is as bonkers insane as ever. i love it so much augh

nowwwww about my thoughts on good omens s1:
Soooo I’ll be honest with ya idk why I didn’t watch it sooner. I knew it existed and for some reason it completely passed over my radar until s2 came out and my friend told me I absolutely had to watch it. Even THEN I kept putting it off (I’m slow at watching tv lol) until I learned David Tennant was in it. Then I was like, well shit, now I have to watch it.
S1 happens, like, super hella fast. Like, blink and you’ll miss it sort of fast. I suppose it makes sense, it’s cramming an entire book into six episodes, and it wouldn’t make sense to stretch out the book and make the plot overstay its welcome. So, when I first watched it I was like holllly crap and then it was done. Idk if I’ll be able to keep up with the potential s3 if it has similar pacing, especially after the very different pacing of s2?
Anyways, I loved s1 in terms of its story. The writing truly is masterful and I feel like you can tell that this was Gaiman and Pratchett’s vision that’s been fine-tuned over the 30+ years that the book has been out. The humour was, I found at least, westernized enough where I found it very charming, though not laugh-out-loud funny (although, I don’t find many shows or forms of media to do that for me). I love love love how charming the show is — the characters and setting and themes are all just so instantly likeable.
The best part of s1 I find is actually two things: obviously, the love story. Perfection, chef’s kiss, and it gets even better as time goes on. For everyone that says that there’s no romance and they don’t see it, I don’t really get it. “You go too fast for me”? Bro 😭
Aziraphale and Crowley are set up in a beautiful way, and me being Partial to the character study, I loved every bit of it. Unfortunately, some of the things I didn’t love about the book translated into s1 too. Mainly, the side characters. I didn’t really care for any of them, I didn’t really care about Agnes Nutter (though, again, I remember finding this charming in both the book and show). I especially didn’t care about the Witch Finder side plot, I was like okay, what is this Neil 😭 but I didn’t find anything a hindrance and I’ll tell ya why:
The absolute best part of this season is the cohesion. Yes, the side plots didn’t always work for me, and whenever Anathema was on screen I wanted to go back to Az and Crowley. But, I couldn’t deny that EVERY part of the story — every character, every plot line, every device, every joke, every slight nudge — led its way to the same theme of going against the grain or going against what other people have set up for you as your destiny. Obviously, this is explored more with heaven and hell, but Armageddon is stopped by the not-antichrist literally going against what the entire universe is telling him must be the way things go. The Agnes Nutter prophecies are burned at the end because that’s not how Anathema wants to live anymore despite her being born into a world of prophecies and never really going against it until now (hell, most of these characters made their destiny their lives until they realized they have a say). Pulsifer falls in love with a witch, etc etc. The fact that all of these things are so intrinsically connected creates a rock-solid foundation for a great story. It makes you even more immersed and invited into this world, with such an accessible message being portrayed by every aspect of the story. It was wonderful. Gaiman and Pratchett both have slow-cooked this story over time and it’s some of the best thematically driven storytelling I’ve seen. As someone that loves to write, it’s inspiring.
So, even though plot driven stories aren’t my favourite, I really enjoyed s1. The secondary characters stayed secondary. If only there was a way to get more of the main boys…

she has a cancer moon taurus mars and aries venus and that is such a sexy combo holllly shit
she's stubborn but she's so sweet and eager to please because she lives for praise, so she'll push her limits and let you fuck her until she's quivering and crying and incoherent and dumb, just a pretty little fucktoy for you, only able to babble out "thank you" and ''s too much'" and she's sniffling and her eyes are watery and wide and her cheeks are red and she's a mess, your sheets soaked and any clothes still on ruined from how soaked she is. probably even squirted for you <3
and when she gives, especially if she's in a dominant mood, she's so passionate, deep kisses that take your breath away and she keeps giving and giving and giving because she likes how your breath hitches and you whine into the kiss. loves when you dig your nails into her back. she wants to be marked by her baby and know that you're satisfied. won't stop unless your eyes roll back and you can't take anymore or unless u safeword
ye..ah. i see her more subby but she'd be a good dom 😔😔
okay i would just like to start with the fact that i find your understanding of natal charts Very attractive because i look at mine and go. Cool. anyway..
switchy sub lean karina!!! she lets you use her in whatever ways you want because she wants to make you feel good. she always prioritizes you, and if that means she gets overstimulated or squirts all over the sheets, then that’s what she’ll do. karina also just loves the feeling of being used by someone else until she’s at her breaking point. poor girl just wants to be taken care of sometimes
on the other hand, she would be a super giving dom! the part you wrote about the kisses really got me because she strikes me as someone who loves deep kisses, ones that are filled with so much passion and love it makes your face heat up. and the marking part too!!! feeling your nails scrape down her back and watching you mark up her skin with pretty bruises is arguably her favorite part of the whole experience. it just brings karina so much joy to watch you feel good because of her :(

Okay, imagine this, y/n is sadistic as fuck and makes a bet with Bakugou (or any bnha boy but I think Bakugou would be the best cause he'd get the most embarrassed) that if he calls her daddy/mommy (his choice) for a week, then she'll give him head. She takes any excuse to insert herself into conversations with him or will bring him into conversations to get him super embarrassed. She's just cocky as shit while all this is happened. It isn't until he whines the nickname that she gets flustered.
God damn I love this idea so much it’s justttt I live for Katsuki with a sadistic s/o. Also this was in drafts forevvvvver sorry 😔
Holllly fuuuuck. Alright can I just say I thrive for sub!Katsuki and the whole time I’m just thinking tHat he feels called out on. Just JDCHHDEBBCHDH. And a sadistic S/O?? Oh honey that’s just wayyyyy to good to be true!!
Like, they’re somewhat new in the relationship, a month-ish. And he just REALLY wants head. Like, not even sex just wants a fucking blowjob. He tries really hard to tell them without right out saying it. Cause screw that. After a week of non stop trying he’s just like “so uhh no head??” And try to be funny but like full on serious so the S/O’s just like ‘lmao call me mommy/daddy first’
I can imagine Katsuki not taking them seriously until he brings it up AGAIN and they say the same thing.
At first he’s pissed as fuck. But as the week went on he got more and more aggravated and just sooooo needy. Like 🥰🥰
Well he’d do it with out realizing probably tho, like it’s the only thing that’s been on his mind for weeksssss and so when he looked at you started talking instead of starting with ‘(S/O) —‘ he says ‘mommy/daddy—‘ instead. Infont of everybody. Everyone heard it, the whole agency’s dead silent except for the few who couldn’t give a shit cause why would they. He doesn’t even realize he said that to you and he doesn’t realize that he alternates between your name and mommy/daddy.
You’re so fucking proud of yourself. You baby him the whole day, he’s hella confused and you sooooo enjoy the offices and his friends looks, cause no way in hell are they gonna say shit cause he can and probably would blow up the whole office.
Well when y’all were making out that night what you weren’t expecting was him to moan it out in the loudest and most lewdest way possible when you grinder up against him. S/o’s whole face just shines red and you let go of him. Just shocked by how much that was fucking hot. He definitely heard it that time and holy fuck is he embarrassed and ready to fucking leave the house. So what does s/o do after the shock??
Pin him to the bed.
“Let mommy/daddy take care if you, baby.”

hi! hope you’re doing well. i’m doing mandatory therapist for my masters and i like my therapist, however my last sessions have been kind of superficial. idk i like her, but i just wish i could make it more “deep” it does feel like a regular conversation, but i would like to use the time more wisely. also, when she walked me out it was a little cold from her and it lowkey bugged me. im not sure if i like her anymore? we’ve done 5 sessions so far.... is this normal? should i talk to her about it?
I’m never going to be sad about a future therapist in therapy ha! So good on you! It sounds a bit like you want something you aren’t getting from these sessions and I would bring that up for sure. That way you can explore if it’s the fit or your own stuff coming up.
It legit takes me forever to warm up to therapist (months usually) but if there is one thing I could tell my past self about finding a good fit is to bring up what was bugging me early and often. You will learn a lot about how you two work together by the therapist’s reaction to something not working for you. If they are responsive and willing to work at it, great - see where it goes. If they are dismissive of your experience (like they may have their own clinical reasons for doing a thing and that’s fine but they need to acknowledge that it didn’t have a good impact on you whatever the intent) or react super defensively, you need to probably start looking for other options. There is nothing wrong with trying a couple people before you find a good fit. I know I have fought to transfer clients in an agency setting (sidenote: holllly shit is this hard to get done) because the client and I didn’t work well together stylistically. I’ve also gotten referrals from other clinicians who feel like a client will work better with me.
Now my HUGE caveat here is that therapy does bring up stuff for people - including transference. People have all kinds of feelings toward their therapist and that doesn’t mean they necessarily need to change anything. So that’s why it’s important to explore it with your therapist and talk about the situation with people in your life you trust. Good luck!

𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐊𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑✨

Melanie-Ann Lowe was sitting contently on her glossy white bed skimming quickly over a thick science book in preparation for the Hawkins annual science fair held in early December. The girls friends had all entered as a group and needed to come up with some unique ideas.
One boy, Dustin Henderson, who had been neighbors with the girl since before she was born, was like an older brother and they had a rare friendship deeper then most people would like to admit.
She made a frustrated sigh and closed her book, not finding any ideas.
Getting distracted and looking out of her fingerprint ridden window to see two lights glide down her street, one stopping across from her house, and the other continuing into darkness.
Dustin turns around, seeing Melanie on the top story with her glowing yellow light, he gives her a toothless smile and a wave before walking into his house.
The two had a plan.
Laughter erupted from the room next to hers, distracting her from her gaze. Her sister Audrey and her best friend Robin Buckley were hanging out at the Lowe house for a 'study' date, but the younger girl knew they were just eating food and talking about boys.
Smoothly she exited her room, tiptoeing past her sisters room, down the narrow staircase to the main floor, which was dark and quiet, with so little sign of any people.
The Lowe parents had left for a trip to New York for an important news article, so Mel was in the care of her sisters. Her dad, Bruce Lowe, had a cushy job at the Hawkins Post, and had worked there for 20 years, since he graduated high school.
Her mum, Loretta Lowe, was a ripe example of a trophy wife and went with her husband on expensive trips. Melanie loved them, like any average person would, but she missed them as they weren't around as much as other parents.
Valerie was the girls oldest sister, and knowing her room would be empty, as she was most likely at a school party, like most nights. The sisters were all very different personality wise, but similar with their mothers fair looks, fought but seemed to get along for a majority of the time.
Snatching a packet of Doritos out of the cupboard, she walks back to her room and shuts the door behind her. Picking up the textbook again, but not being able to concentrate. After a few minutes of staring into nothing, she hears a knock on her window.
"shhhhhhhh! My sister w-will hear you!" the girl whispers, opening her window slowly but cautiously.
"Come on! We can go now, hurry up!" Dustin replies practically dragging her out the window, knowing that her parents had left earlier that morning, and her sisters didn't care enough to worry. Melanie takes her brown backpack, which was always filled with essentials and snuck out of her house.
"Step quieter w-will you, or we-we'll get caught." the blonde squeaks, while attempting to not step on the dead autumn leaves to get to her bike. Walking it down her steep driveway, turning on their front lights then riding off down a back road.
It being a Sunday night, most houses were sleeping and minimal cars were driving around. The pair perk up when they hear distant music, but continuing at the same pace, along the road parked cars start to slowly multiply and the music becomes more distinctive.
Not surprisingly was the party being held at (What Audrey and Robin called him,) Steve 'the hair' Harrington's house, as the two rode past, slowing down just slightly, did Melanie recognize a particular face from the front yard.
Seeing Valerie there only made her bolt off faster down the road, with the curly haired boy right behind her.
Darting down a back street and keeping to it for a few minuets did they find themselves at the junk yard. Leaning their bikes against the abandoned bus and going inside, the duo sat on a seat facing each other and unpacked the food they had brought in their bags.
"How w-was the campaign? Also p-pass the skittles." the girl asks making herself comfortable in the seat, her tiredness causing her stutter to worsen, "It was great! But we lost the dice right before we got to see if Will survived." Dustin hands Mel the packet in return for a whole Kit-Kat bar.
After many laughs and bubbling conversation, a shrieking noise in the woods motivates the two to head back home. Going a different way than before, to avoid getting caught by the girls now possibly drunk sister.
"See you tomorrow Lanie!" the boy shouts as he goes to his window to sneak back in, Melanie walks her bike back up her driveway, climbing up the wood used to keep the Vine wall growing upwards, walking across the roof and opening her window delicately.
An agitating beeping awakens Melanie from her slumber. Taking off her pink flowery covers, the cold early November air that hit her bare legs made her visibly shiver before she arched her back also stretching her arms in the air.
She had decided to have a shower later the previous night after her annual meet with her neighbor. Changing into some light blue jeans and a black and white striped long sleeve, with mismatched spotted socks to go with it.
"Do you want a ride this morning?" asks Val, grabbing her car keys with Audrey and Robin in tow. The older girl sporting bloodshot eyes framed with dark rings, and voice croaky.
"I'm riding with Dustin today, see ya!" The younger girl skips through the door with her slightly muddy pastel pink backpack in her hand.
Knocking on the Henderson door quietly, hearing faint footsteps and door open, with the young boy smiling brightly whilst slipping a cap over his naturally messy hair.
"How w-was your night?" the blonde asks, "Alright, you?" "yeah same."
Riding off to the opposite direction they went the night before, and up the slight hill that always killed their leg muscles, they rode all the way to Hawkins Middle School in little time, where their friends Mike and Lucas were standing around. She frowns slightly noticing the absent person and parks her bike into the stand before catching up with the two.
"Isn't W...W-ill here?" She calls out, her hair blowing in from the wind. Making her push it out of her face.
"He could have just slept in?" Lucas thinks, "Probably." agrees the girl.
"Maybe he just went to class early again," says Mike, "he's always paranoid Gursky's gonna give him a pop quiz." laughs Dustin as they continue walking into the school, the others nod. The group were interrupted by a voice behind them.
"Step right up, ladies and gentlemen! Step right up and get your tickets for the freak show!" Melanie's head whips around to see James and Troy, two older boys who loved to torment her friends.
The group don't dare to move, it was a regular occurrence, they were quite used to it by now. Troy looks them up and down, giving a glare at Mel, the girl scrunching her nose and turns her focus on her shoes, not wanting to make eye contact with the older boys.
"Who do you think would make more money at a freak show, 'Frog-face,' 'Midnight,' 'Toothless'? or M-M-M-Melanie" he says snickering,
"Ooof. Tough call, tough call." James interrupts, eyeing Dustin, "I'd go with Toothless." He sneers.
"My teeth are coming in, I told you a million times, it's called cleidocranial dysplasia-" The curly haired boy gets irritated, "I told you a million times!" Troy mocks him laughing with his friend.
"Do the arm thing." he demands, if Mel was bold enough she would roll her eyes, but she stood statue still, scared of the consequences. Dustin hesitates before stretching his arms out, causing the bullies to make a disgusted face.
"Gets me every time! Every time!" Troy exclaims before shoving the group as he walks away into the school laughing.
"Numbskulls," Lucas whispers under his breath, making the blonde giggle.
"I think it's cool, it's like a superpower or something, like Mr. Fantastic!" Mike tries to be optimistic towards his friend. Mel reaches for is hand and gives it a squeeze in attempt comfort. Smiling slightly in response.
"Yeah, except I can't fight evil with it." replies Dustin before the group pick up their bags and walk to class, still confused as to where their friend could be at the time.
A swarm of Middle Schooler's scramble to grab their books and bags and hurry out of class after the bell chimes, talking loudly about latest gossip amongst themselves.
"Remember, finish chapter twelve, and answer twelve-point-three on the difference between an experiment and other forms of science investigation-" the teacher stops after realizing that there are no more children in the class to hear his reminder.
"So did it come?" Mike asks as the four huddle around the teachers desk in anticipation. Melanie's smile falters when Mr Clarke hesitates, "Sorry, boys," she gives the teacher a pointed look, "and girl, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but..." the four all sigh in frustration, not pleased they would gave to be patient another day.
"It came." He finishes.
The group look up with a wide smiles and Melanie jumps a little with excitement, pulling Lucas along with her by the upper arm, as the four run through the now deserted halls, their footstep echoing, straight to the A.V room. Mike gets the door open first then Dustin pushes past Lucas and Mel to get through second.
"Hey!" they both say simultaneously, yelling at Dustin for cutting in, he just gives the two a smirk and stands to the right of Mike, who was sitting in the chair, while Lucas stood to the left and Mel with her hand on Mikes shoulder, leaning in to get a closer look.
Mike places the headphones over his ears.
"The Heath-kit ham shack, ain't she a beaut?" Grins Mr Clarke, pointing to the new radio.
"I bet you can talk to New York on this thing-" exclaims Dustin, the teacher just gives a smile, "think bigger,"
"California?" adds Lucas, "bigger,"
"Australia?" the girl squeaks, Mr Clarke nods. "Holllly shit." Says Mike, getting a look from the teacher and a playful hit from a giggling Mel.
"Oh man, when Will sees this he's going to totally lose his shit-" Lucas bursts out, "Lucas," Mel scolds though she was giggling,
"sorry."
"'Ello, this is Mike Wheeler, President of Hawkins Middle A.V. Club-" begins Mike in a terrible Australian accent, only to be cut off by Dustin.
"'Ello, this is Dustin Henderson, Secretary and Treasurer of Hawkins Middle A.V. Club, do you eat kangaroos for breakfast?" everyone cringes at the accent and just as Mel's about to be passed the headset by Dustin, there's a knock on the door.
The blonde recognizes one of the men as the principle and the other as chief Hopper. She grows curious, her eyebrows furrowed, assuming something was wrong.
"Sorry to interrupt, but may I borrow Michael, Melanie, Lucas, and Dustin?" The familiar man asks. The group share a puzzled look, all silent as ever contemplating what could have happened.

Strickler Tries his Best Pt. 2
Also Known As: Jim Now Needs Permission from Two Parents.
Also Known As: Jim would rather die a fiery death than ask Strickler to sign permission slips but there you go.
Jim used to completely depend on his mother. And yeah, she depended on him. More than she would have liked. But she’s a parent. And she’s there to be a parent. So things like permission and requests are all brought to her attention before the actual event can take place.
He wants to go to a concert? He has to ask his mom.
He wants to go to the library after dinner? He has to ask his mom.
He wants to invite friends over? Go to Toby’s to play video games? Go on field trips?
Ask his mother.
Which is all fine and good. Except that there are days where his mother is flooded with work. And she won't answer her phone. No matter how many times he calls or how many voicemails he leaves. And it’s always the same. When she get’s home, knocking on his bedroom door- “I’m so sorry, Kiddo, I didn’t get to the phone. There was an emergency-”
“It’s fine, Mom,” says Jim with a wave, pretending like he isn’t completely disappointed that he missed another day out. “I get it.”
She sighs into a smile. “I appreciate you asking, though. I really do.”
And sure, when he’s the Trollhunter he’ll go out for things without asking first. But there are still things he has to ask for. Friends over to his house. Dinner invites. All these things that she might not get to because there’s a medical emergency. And he understands. Still...
If there was a second parent.
And then...
There is.
And holllly shit Jim does not want to call Strickler.
He’s not even sure that Changelings deal with the matter of video games and hanging out. And the “Impure”, as Draal had taken to calling him (as was a societal norm, Jim was learning) might still hold a thousand reasonable grudges that would keep him from ever having friends over ever again.
But when Toby got the new video game, and Claire wanted to join, and they both looked to him at the edge of their school building, waiting for him to say sure I can totally come over and do that with you guys! he knows that there’s no other choice.
And holy hell is it awkward.
“Hello?” Strickler doesn’t even know who’s number it is. Which is fair. Jim stole it from his mother’s phone in case he ever needed to threaten him via text. “Walter Strickler speaking. Who’s this.” Silence. “Hello?”
“Uh...” Jim swallows. “Mr... Strickler? Walt? Uh- I don’t know what to call you?”
“Jim?”
“Yeah...” He rubs his arm. “I- uh... I tried to call my mom. I mean, just mom. And she didn’t answer-”
“She’s in the clinic.”
“Yeah, I know. So.” He looks at his friends. Waiting expectantly. “Can I go to my friends house? Would that be cool? Or...”
“You’re asking me? To attend a visitation with your peers?”
God this was awful. Jim rubbed his face. Sucked in his pride. “Yes.” He concluded. “I am.”
“... why.”
“Because you’re supposed to ask your parents things and mom’s not picking up! Can I go, or not!”
Really, Walt should have said no for the tone alone. But the word left a funny feeling in his stomach. “Be back for dinner.”
“Thank you,” sighed the boy, hanging up before either could say a goodbye.
Walt would save his number and sit back at his desk. Because you’re supposed to ask your parents...
He would revel in this newfound power. Or... at least enjoy the feeling of the title (while it lasted).
